HellermannTyton bi metal connectors for use on stranded aluminium conductors are friction welded and meet Australian & New Zealand Standard AS/NZ4325. The aluminium barrel cable entry is capped to contain a high temperature grease with a zinc compound to reduce the chance of corrosion.
